Tim Loren Helding

Tim Loren Helding 76, Edgar, formerly of Rib Falls, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born March 20, 1936 in Racine, son of the late Fred and LaVerne (Bush) Helding. On June 28, 1958, he married Rita Grummel of Chicago. She survives. Tim was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United State Marine Corps and was a member of the American Legion in Whitney, Tex. and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Quartzsite, Ariz. Prior to his retirement, Tim had been employed as a truck driver with Greenheck Fan and Ventilator Corp. and has spent the last 18 years traveling the country. He was always a "people person" and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Tim loved being on the water, especially canoeing on the Rib River and Wisconsin River and boating on the Wolf River. Survivors include, his wife of 54 years, Rita Helding, Edgar; five daughters, Lynn (Don) Southworth, Wausau, Kim (Tom) Peacock, Janesville, Lori (Gerald) Heil, Edgar, Luann (Patrick) Doll, Hartford and LeeAnn (Brian) Riehle, Trempealeau; 12 grandchildren, Maria (John) Zrucky, Emily (Rick) Doty, Melissa and Abby Southworth, Jeremy (Rachelle) Peacock, Tony (Terri) Peacock, Tara (Brian) Radtke, Tessa (Jack) Knetter, Lucas and Logan Michlig, Brandon and Nathan Riehle; and 12 great grandchildren, Marcus, Alex, Clayten, Preston, Cassie, Megan, Tyler, Austin, Allie, Sophia, Nola and Leia. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Helding; one sister, Lois Gitzlaff; and one great granddaughter, Isis Michlig. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar, with full military honors conducted by the American Legion Sawyer-Drumm Post #393, Edgar and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #10187, Edgar.
