Royal T. Andrzcyzak
80, 615 Steuben Street, Wausau, died Thursday February 17, 2005 at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Schofield.
He was born September 25, 1924 in Wausau, son of the late James and Flossie (Gliss) Andrzcyzak. On May 3, 1947 he married Mary Ann Mullen at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. She survives.
Prior to his retirement in 1987, Royal had been employed at the former James River Corporation, Wausau. He also operated the Filter Queen Vacuum Cleaner repair service for a number of years. . Royal was a member of the Optimists Club and had been a member of the Equitable Reserve Association for 30 years, serving as president of the Wausau Assembly #29.
He was a World War II veteran of the US Army serving as a corporal in Germany with the 555th Engineer Heavy Pontoon Battalion. He was a member of the American Legion, Montgomery Plant Post #10 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post #388, both of Wausau
Among his favorite things to do were going to the cottage up north, wood working projects and taking bus trips. He was especially fond of spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann, Wausau, his children, Charles (Dee) Andrzcyzak, Schofield, Michael (Mary) Andrzcyzak, Wausau, Maxine (George) Brzezinski, Wausau, four grandchildren, Kenneth (Nicole) Andrzcyzak, Marcia (Dan) Schlagenhaft, Samantha (fiance', Jeff Knapp) Brzezinski, Kailey Brzezinski and three great grandchildren, Cole Andrzcyzak, Kylan Andrzcyzak and Emma Schlagenhaft.
Besides his parents, Royal was preceded in death by a sister, April May Andrzcyzak.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon Monday February 21, 2005 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau, where full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion and VFW. Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Sixth Street funeral home.
