Ronald Krueger

Ronald "Ron" W. Krueger, 82, town of Hewitt, died Thursday, May 26, 2016 at home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He was born May 21, 1934 in Wausau, son of the late Herbert and Adelia (Chiber) Krueger. On October 29, 1955, he married Arlene Liebers at Trinity Lutheran Church in the town of Hewitt. She survives. Ron was a self-employed mason and owned and operated Rocky Ridge Construction with his son-in-law, Don Zimmerman. Ron took great pride in his masonry skills and many homes in Wausau and surrounding cities are a legacy of his work. Several of the best "Parade of Homes" entries are a tribute to his perfected skill. Ron loved spending time in his garage tinkering around and fixing things. Whenever a family member or friend needed something fixed, Ron was the one they called. Survivors include, his loving wife of 60 years, Arlene Krueger; four children, Mark (Pamela) Krueger, Weston, Joy (Donald) Zimmerman, town of Texas, Myron (Donna) Krueger, Aniwa and Fay (Jody) Sukow, town of Pine River; six grandchildren, Jamie (Justin) Fisher, Jodie (Christopher) Savickis, Brian Kessen (Lauren's husband); Erin Zimmerman, Derek (Angel) Zimmerman, Daniel (Clarice) Zimmerman, and Joshua (Justine) Cleveland; 10 great-grandchildren with two more arriving this summer; one brother, Gary (Sallee) Krueger, town of Hewitt; his mother-in-law, Irene Liebers, Wausau; and nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Perry and Vivian Barden; granddaughters, Jaime Weyneth and Lauren Kessen, and an infant brother, Larry. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at The Shepherd's House, Rib Mountain. Rev. Tom Michalski will officiate. Burial will be in the Trinity Cemetery, town of Texas. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
