Robert M. Fochs, 89, Rhinelander, formerly of Wausau, died Sunday, January 6, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born November 19, 1929 in Hilbert, Wis., son of the late Frederick and Agnes (Liljiquist) Fochs. For 57 years, he was married to the love of his life and best friend, Olive Rae “Ollie”.
Robert was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the military police while stationed in Germany. He was a World War II History buff, loved his afternoon talks with Ollie, and enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and especially his brother, Fred, who was his best friend. Robert was also an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan and Chicago Cubs fan.
Survivors include, two children, Cynthia (John) Suemnicht, Lubbock, TX and Timothy (Carol) Fochs, Rhinelander; one son-in-law, Mike Ertl, Dousman; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Jane Fochs, Schofield; and two nephews, Pat (Linda) Fochs, Schofield and Mike (Nancy) Fochs, Woodruff.
Besides his parents and wife, Ollie, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Cathie Ertl; and one brother, Fred.
Private memorial services will be held later this summer.
