Patrick "Ricky" Lesage

Patrick (Ricky) W. LeSage, 56, Wausau, died Friday, July 31, 2020 at Mount View Care Center, Wausau.

Ricky was born December 12, 1963, in Wausau.  He was son to the late Matthew Thomas and Barbara (Bretzke) LeSage.

Shortly after birth Ricky was diagnosed with what was then called ‘mental retardation’ and what is now referred to as ‘developmentally disabled’.  Even though unable to talk Ricky’s communication skills were never lacking.  He made his wants, needs, and desires known which were often referred to as being mischievous; in other words, he kept everyone on their toes.  But, he also had a gentleness and sweetness that captured your heart just like his smile.  Many who cared for Ricky found themselves on the receiving end of his huge hugs that lasted until he was ready to let go.  It was his way of saying he loved you and thank you.  His family, which includes his caregiving family, were richly blessed by him.  The Lord made Ricky extra special, and in such a way that impacted many lives and would leave a lasting impression on anyone who came within arms’ reach.

We can’t begin to express enough thanks to the staff of North Central Health Care.  From the group home staff to the nursing home staff Ricky knew and loved each of you.  Thank you!

Survivors include his brothers, Christopher (Karen) LeSage, Weston, Russell LeSage, Wausau, and sister, Debora (Robert) Osowski, Mosinee, nieces Michelle (Kameren) Mikul, Danielle (Chris) Hanson, Trystin LeSage; nephews Joshua (Marlee) LeSage, Paul Krubsack, Caleb (Breanna) LeSage; and 7+ great- nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Highland Community Church, Wausau.  Rev. Jeff Hinds will officiate.  Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services all at the church.
