Mary Ann Wimmer, 95, died Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Benedictine Living Community, Wausau.
She was born July 7, 1923 in Merrill, daughter of the late Henry and Anna Alvina (Kniess) Heinz. She married Wesley Barttelt who died in WWII. She married Elmer Wimmer Sr. and he preceded her in death on February 8, 1999.
Mary Ann enjoyed crafting, making Christmas ornaments, family time up at the campground and trips to the casino. She also loved to meet with friends for morning coffee in Brokaw.
Survivors include her three daughters, JoAnn (Tony Podhora) Sowinski, Wausau, Rose (Steve) Miller, Wausau and Barbara (Kenneth) Zunker, Wausau; five sons, Gene (Sue) Wimmer, Adrian, Michigan, Elmer Jr. (Judy) Wimmer, Rib Mountain, Keith (Cindy) Wimmer, Birnamwood, David Wimmer, Brokaw and Patrick (Sharon) Wimmer, Brokaw; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; siblings, Dale and Milton Heinz, Joyce Goetch, Sandra Ryan and Annette Lach.
Besides her parents and husbands, Wesley and Elmer Sr., she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Chet Sowinski, grandson, Bobby Sowinski, and brothers, Roger, Henry Jr. and Donald Heinz.
Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau at a later date.
