Mary Ann E. Kemp

March 31, 1935 — June 22, 2010

Mary Ann E. Kemp 75, Wausau, died Tuesday June 22, 2010 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau after a four year battle with cancer. She was born March 31, 1935 in Rothschild, daughter of the late Albert and Josephine (Schneider) Priebe. On July 2, 1955, she married Roger Kemp at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He survives. Prior to their retirement, Mary Ann assisted her husband in the operation of their business, Kemp Service Center, Wausau. Mary Ann was very active at St. Michael School and Newman High School while her children were in attendance there. She was also a member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women and the Rosary Confraternity at St. Michael Parish. Among her favorite things to do were sewing, crafting, reading, polka dancing and vacationing on Harbour Island Bahamas. Special to her was the time spent with family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Roger, four children, Kathryn (David) Bohan and their son, Phillip, Chicago; Craig Kemp and his children, Katelynn and Christopher, West Allis; Pamela Coffey and sons, Jason and Joshua, Wausau; Steven (Colleen) Kemp and family, Keith, Brooklyn and Brynna, Wausau; one sister-in-law, Barbara Priebe, Schofield. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Kluender, a brother, Donald Priebe and a son, Keith Allen. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday June 25, 2010 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Gregory Michaud will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. The family wishes to thank Dr. Christopher Peterson and the staff of the Oncology Department at the UW Cancer Center as well as the staff of Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care given to Mary Ann.
