In memory of the boy who loved all God's creatures,
Who could call a wild pigeon off a barn roof to sit on his shoulder,
Or take a mama robin from her nest and she would sit contentedly in his hand,
Or hold a field mouse or a pine snake in his hand and pet it.
Who was our calf raiser and would stand hugging a cow
When he was supposed to be chasing them in.
And the man who was so loved by his nephews and nieces,
And was taken from us so soon by the God he loved so much.
