Laura E. (Seubert) Morris

November 1, 1988 — November 13, 2024

Wausau

Laura Elizabeth (Seubert) Morris of Wausau passed away peacefully and surrounded by the love of her family on November 13, 2024, in Marshfield, Wisconsin. She was 36 years old. Laura’s greatest joys were her children Norah (7) and Nolan (4), who embody all of the best and most beautiful things about her.

Laura was born in Wausau on November 1, 1988, the daughter of Ruth and Greg Seubert. She graduated from Wausau East High School in 2007 and UW-Oshkosh in 2012. She returned to Wausau to work for the Wausau School District as a kindergarten and first-grade teacher at Franklin Elementary School. She then earned her Masters degree in Instructional Technology from Marian University in 2016 and transitioned to a Technology Integration Specialist position, applying her passion for teaching in a new way.  Following Laura’s diagnosis of metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer in 2022, she also took on the role of advocate and educator for others impacted by breast cancer. She was an active participant in a community of “Breasties” on social media and made connections with people in many stages of diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. She was always eager to share her story and her support to comfort others and would appreciate including a reminder here to complete monthly breast self-exams.

Laura led an active life and brought light to all who met her. She was funny, sassy, and fiercely devoted to her family and her friends. She loved Harry Potter, exchanging well-timed memes, and spending time with loved ones.  Throughout a very challenging medical situation, she remained optimistic about an unknown future and looked out for those caring for her. Her kind, strong, courageous heart worked hard until the very end. She will be profoundly missed.

In addition to her children, Laura is survived by her parents, her husband of 12 years, Jared Morris, sister Allison Oliphant (Brandon) of Sheboygan, and brother Thomas (Olivia Carlson) Seubert of Wausau. She is also survived by grandpa Allan Seubert of Marathon, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members who loved her dearly.

She is preceded in death by grandmas Dorothy Schneider and Sharon Seubert, Grandpa Ervin Schneider, uncles Chris Seubert and Steven Schneider, and cousin Sarah Kroening.

Laura’s family would like to express deep gratitude to her medical team at Marshfield Clinic who provided her with guidance and comfort throughout her treatment and end-of-life care. They extend special thanks to Dr. Isaac Yeboah and ICU nurses Tara and Keigan.

A celebration of Laura’s life and memory will be held on Saturday, November 23rd from 1:30 until 4:00 at John Marshall Elementary School, 1918 Lamont Street, Wausau. The family asks that you come ready with friendship bracelets to exchange and happy memories to share.
