Laddie Bosh Dvorak

Laddie Bosh Dvorak, 89, Edgar, died Monday, May 2, 2011 at his home. He was born December 13, 1921 in Milan, son of the late Joseph and Rose (Kosnar) Dvorak. On July 17, 1952, he married Rosalie Knetter in Chicago. She preceded him in death on September 16, 1999. Laddie faithfully served in the United States Army during World War II, fighting bravely with the 101st Airborne Division. He saw action in England, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany and Italy. He received four battle stars while in the military and felt honored to protect Americas freedom. Laddie spent the majority of his life, working as a logger. For 20 years, he also owned and operated the former Country Home Tavern on Highway N in the town of Cassel. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed being outdoors, playing his accordion, and most of all, spending time with his family, whether it be fishing, camping or Sunday drives. Survivors include four children, Perry (Ruth) Dvorak, Edgar, Carmen Engelman, Mosinee, Terry (Kerri) Dvorak, Clearwater, Minn. and Dawn (Rodney) Rowland, Wausau; nine grandchildren, Mandy (Brian) Rogers, Michelle (Phillip) Lang, Brenden (Annie) Dvorak, Adam, Brandt and Kourtney Dvorak, Kaelee Engelman, and Melissa and Grant Rowland; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Angie Ralstron, Lake Park, Minn., and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Rosalie, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Ed, Hank, Joe, Chuck, Bob, Bill and Rudy. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Robert Steveler will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar is in charge of arrangements.
