Kenneth 'Ken' Salzman
72, 806 S. Third Avenue, Wausau, died Monday December 3, 2001, at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
He was born March 20, 1928 in the Town of Cassel, son of the late Felix and Juliana (Starzinski) Salzman. On July 19, 1975, he married Bonnie Burke in Wausau. She survives.
Ken owned and operated the Salzman Roofing and Siding Company for over fifty years. He was a member of the Elk's Lodge No. 248, Wausau. Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, the out doors and traveling.
Survivors, besides his wife Bonnie; include sons, Ken Salzman, Jr., Monrovia, CA, Keith (Linda) Salzman, Henry (Tina) Schultz, both of Wausau, Shawn (Karlena) Schultz, Stoughton, Robert Schultz, Mesa, AZ; daughters, Katherine Opichka, Mosinee, Karen (Dan) Thompson, Kim (Don) Hildebrandt, both of Wausau, Kelly (Tony) Esteney, England, UK, Tina (Lyle) Schultz, Wausau; 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley (Sid) Dong, Berkeley, CA; half-brothers, Robert (Paulette) Salzman, Donald (Arlene) Salzman, both of Wausau, Jerry Salzman, Bakersfield, CA; a half-sister, Pat Henrichs, Milwaukee, and special friends, Dale Janisch and Lloyd Riemer. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Harold and Leroy Salzman.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 6, 2001 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Rev. Kenneth Moberg will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and again on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until time of services at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with the family. In memory of Ken, Salzman Roofing and Siding will be closed Thursday.
