John L. Pingel, 47, T8255 N. 81st St., Wausau, died Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
He was born March 6, 1956 in Antigo, son of Lois (Kohn) Pingel, Antigo and the late Karl Pingel. On May 4, 1985 John married Deborah Zeitler in Wheeler, Mich. She survives.
John worked in maintenance at Wisconsin Public Service. He was also a volunteer EMT and firefighter for the Town of Texas and Rib Mountain. John loved to work out in the woods and also found plenty of things to do in the barn.
Besides his wife Deborah, Wausau, and his mother Lois Pingel, Antigo, survivors include his daughter, Nicole, at home, one brother, Matt Pingel, Antigo, three sisters, Muriel (Bob) Weiss, Saginaw, Mich, Patty (Chuck) Bilgo, New Holstein, Cheryl Bleeke and special friend Steve, Racine along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2004 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 7505 N. 33rd St., town of Wausau. Rev. Gregory Michel will officiate. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Hope Lodge , American Cancer Society.
