Johanna I. Schultz, 100, died Sunday, March 31, 2024 under the care of Interim Hospice at Rennes Health and Rehab, Weston.
She was born June 20, 1923, daughter of the late Julius and Ida (Buss) Ninnemann in the town of Wausau. On January 10, 1942 she married Arnold Schubring and he preceded her in death on August 6, 1982. On November 14, 1984 she married Leroy Schultz, and he preceded her in death on December 25, 1999.
Her past employment included Marathon Rubber Products and Wausau Colonial Manor. She was a volunteer at the Talent Shop, which she enjoyed very much. Johanna was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church and she volunteered there for various jobs. She also enjoyed rug weaving, knitting, and counted cross stitch.
Survivors include her son, Harlan (Theresa) Schubring; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Schubring; grandsons, Kirt (Nikki) Schubring and Jason (Nicole) Schubring; great-grandchildren, Regan (Adam) Decker and Teilyn Schubring, Emmet and Grant Schubring.
Besides her parents, and husbands, Arnold and Leroy, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Schubring, daughter-in-law, JoAnne Schubring, granddaughter, Lori Jo Schubring, sisters, Ellora Storm, Elaine DeVriendt, Lois Narloch and brothers, Herbert, Merlin, Gilbert and Gerald Ninnemann.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Steven Gjerde will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau.
