Jean M. Misoni
81, Wausau, died Friday May 20, 2011 at her home.
She was born January 31, 1930, in Laona, daughter of the late Edward and Joyce (Aschinger) Lambert. On May 14, 1949, she married the love of her life, Elvio Misoni, in Laona. He preceded her in death on January 11, 1992.
Jean lived a life rich in goodness, kindness, and generosity. She always led by example and taught life's lessons in that manner. She believed in a philosophy of God first, others second, and herself third. For many years, she was an active member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, volunteering her time and talents, especially with the Circle of Joy. Among her favorite activities were scrapbooking, lunching with her many friends, and -particularly dear to her - spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Most recently, filled with joy and anticipation, Jean met her newborn great-granddaughter, Anna Marie Duwe. Through the years, she also became "Gramma" to many international students as well. Family and friends will remember her as a wonderful cook and accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed hosting meals and participating in many family events always contributing her fabulous dishes. She will be remembered for the love she brought to everyone and everything she touched. Her family loved her beyond measure.
Above all, Jean watched out for those she loved. The family always smiled when they heard her endearing words of wisdom each time they left to drive home. She would say, "Drive carefully, and watch for deer." This loving reminder holds it place in the family as her loving good bye.
Jean was truly grateful to the many "angels" in her life, whose assistance allowed her to live life in her own home. That meant the world to her, and each person held a special place of gratitude in her heart.
Survivors include her children, Mary (and Dan) Duwe, Mosinee; Don (and Diann) Misoni, Wausau; Steven (and Pamela) Misoni, Mosinee; Elyce (and Wayne) Koehler, Marshfield; and Michael (and Kendall) Misoni, Wausau. She also left behind nine grandchildren: Lori Jean (and Jeff) Hamann, Chad Duwe, Joshua (and Debbie) Duwe, Nicholas Misoni, Megan Jean (and Ryan) Gingery, Krista Jean Koehler, Rachel Koehler, Michaela Misoni, and Matthew Misoni; and eight great-grandchildren: Mya, Luke, Jacob and Ava Hamann, Mario and Jabez Duwe, and Enzo and Anna Duwe. Jean's siblings include Robert (and Betty) Lambert, Wabeno; Elly (and Eugene) Simonis, Wabeno; Ronald (and Nancy) Lambert, Mukwonago; and Deanna (and George) Smith, Wabeno.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jennifer Misoni and Elvio Misoni, and one brother, Edward Lambert.
