Gail G. Arlen, 68, Wausau died Sunday July 31, 2011 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born July 24, 1943, in Mosinee, daughter of the late Glenn and Margaret (Konieczko) Altenburg. On May 25, 1963, she married Robert Arlen at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. He survives.
Among her employments through the years, Gail worked at the former Citizens Bank, Poland Chiropractic and retired from Aqua Finance. In the spirit of giving back to her community, she was an active volunteer for several causes including Wausau Manor Nursing Home.
Among her favorite things to do were attending flea market and rummage sales. She had the unique ability of finding the just the right item and helping others do the same. The Holidays were special for Gail and she enjoyed decorating for each one and the family gatherings that brought everyone together. Above all she will be remembered by her family for the immeasurable love she had for them, especially her grandchildren.
When her children were in school, Gail was a member of the G.D. Jones Mothers Club and this organization created friendships that carry on to this day. She collected angels, enjoyed her gardens, fed the birds, watched butterflies, recognizing them as a symbol of new life. The Wisconsin Valley Fair this year will be without one of its most avid attendees, Gail. She loved the excitement, the shows, the food and the fun.
