Eugene J. Drewek

Eugene J. Drewek, 84, Wausau died Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at his home. He was born May 28, 1931 in the town of Rietbrock, son of the late Frank and Victoria (Lenard) Drewek. On October 1, 1952 he married Mabel Dorfschmidt at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. She survives. Eugene was a dairy farmer in the town of Rietbrock for more than 40 years. He also logged part time and was a power grader operator for the town of Rietbrock for more than 25 years. Some of his favorite past times included hunting, fishing and putting jigsaw puzzles together. Survivors include his wife, Mabel Drewek, Wausau, his children, Janice (Rick Jay) Loshbough, Inver Heights, MN, Gary (Kim) Drewek, Athens and Roger (Rita Krahn) Drewek, Merrill, three grandchildren, Amber Loshbough and Emily and Becky Drewek and one sister, Roseanne Jagodzinski, Athens. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one great grandson, Benjamin Loshbough and one brother, Robert Drewek. A Memorial Mass will be held at Noon, Friday, December 4, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. The Rev. Robert Streveler will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Eugene's name.
