Eleanor Marvin, 101, Wausau, died Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
She was born February 10, 1916 in Wausau, daughter of the late Vincent and Louise (Machyniak) Slaminski. On November 10, 1934, she married Charles Marvin at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1981.
Eleanor attended St. Michael's School in Wausau and went on to vocational school for four years and studied home economics. For 18 years, she worked for the Marathon Rubber Products Company in Wausau. She also helped at St. Anne's Church and sewed baptismal stows for 18 years. Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed bowling, playing sheepshead, bingo and polka dancing. Some special moments in her life included, traveling coast to coast with her daughter and her daughter's husband, going to Hawaii and turning 101.
Survivors include, two children, Gerald (JoAnn) Marvin, Merrill and Joan (Larry) Hoffmann, Schofield; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; four siblings, Delores Dumdey, Wausau, Jean Erickson, Wausau, Larry (JoAnn) Slaminski, Alvin, Wis. and Robert (Carol) Slaminski, Wausau; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Charles, she was preceded in death by four siblings.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Nathaniel Kuhn will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.
