Betty L. Schantz

Betty L. Schantz 81, Wausau, died Monday, September 22, 2008 at North Central Health Care, Wausau. She was born October 5, 1926 in Wausau, daughter of the late Arthur and Myrtle (Pagel) Schmirler. On July 5, 1948 she married Charles Schantz in Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1978. Betty was a homemaker. Survivors include, two children, Cheryl (Thomas) Schwartz, Jersey City, N.J. and Terry (Deboraha) Schantz, Rib Mountain; four grandchildren, Rachel Redmond, Bloomington, Minn., Kourtnee (Cory) McDonald, Rhinelander, Ashlee Schantz, LaCrosse and Mikayla Schantz, Rib Mountain; four great-grandchildren, Dominic, Taylor, Morgan and Oriana. Besides her parents and husband, Charles, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Ryan Redmond; and one sister, Donna Mae Marcell. Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Kenneth A. Dix will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
