Arleen L. Graveen 85, Wausau died Friday April 13, 2012 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Wausau Manor. She was born February 2, 1927 in Wausau, daughter of the late Edward and Leona (Deininger) Schmitz. On April 1, 1950 she married Earl A. Graveen Sr. in Michigan. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2009. Arleen was a Registered Nurse at Wausau Hospital until her retirement in 1989. She always said Obstetrics was her passion! In retirement, Arleen and Earl traveled extensively with her brother and sister-in-law as well as friends. She enjoyed many good times with family and friends at their cottage they built on Crystal Lake in Tomahawk, Wi. Survivors include her children, Suzanne (Gary) Kempf, Rhinelander, Earl "Bud" (Susan) Graveen Jr., Wausau, Steven (Mary Jo Helms) Graveen, Rib Mountain and Jeff (Nancy) Graveen, Wausau, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, one brother Jerome (Ramona) Schmitz, Wausau and one aunt Irene "Ike" Schmitz, Wausau. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon Wednesday April 18, 2012 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. The Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
