Anna Mae Heil

Anna Mae Heil 75, Marathon, died Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born May 19, 1934 in Wausau, daughter of the late Rudolph and Mary (Hoffman) Stieber. Anna married Frank Heil on May 20, 1953, at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Anna served as a former financial secretary for the Catholic Order of Foresters and the National Catholic Society of Foresters, as well as past treasurer for the National Catholic Society of Foresters. Additionally, Anna was a Eucharistic minister, a member of the Secular Franciscan Order, and past secretary for the Parish Council of Catholic Women at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Marathon. Among her many interests she enjoyed painting ceramics, sewing, gardening, reading, playing cards and collecting angels. Anna especially loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Frank Heil, Marathon; nine children, Sherri (Ray) Stankowski, Wausau, Fran (Lynn) Heil, Wausau, Carol (Brian) Weix, Northfield, Minn., Dave (Christine) Heil, Edgar, Dottie (Charlie) Lang, Edgar, Tom (Michelle) Heil, Whitewater, Greg (Julie) Heil, Weston, Julie (Tom) Matson, Eau Claire and Scott (Katie) Heil, Hudson; nineteen grandchildren, Jennifer (Nick) Rabchenia, Matt (Jillian) Stankowski, Tamera Stankowski, Ben (Lisa) Heil, Adam (Hannah Bremer) Heil, Becki and Phillip Weix, Taylor and Cody Heil, Amanda and Brad Lang, Jessica (Dustin Radloff) and Chelsea Heil, Zach, Kaylee, Meghan and Allayna Heil, Tori and Elle Matson; and one grandson on the way; six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Collin, Charlotte, Austin, Damien and Jayden; one sister, Marie Krieg, Wausau; one brother, Rudy Stieber, Marathon; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one infant son, Thomas Heil; one brother, Al Stieber; and two sisters, Kathleen Stockhausen and Bernice Knoeck. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again Monday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.
