Wilma Rodenkirch, 97, formerly of Wausau, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2010, at Twin Towers Retirement Community, Cincinnati, OH.
Wilma was born in Wausau on September 5, 1912 to the late Alfred and Emma (Hintz) Wolff. She was a graduate of Wausau High School and married Arthur Rodenkirch on May 20, 1933 in Madison, WI. She worked as a switchboard operator at Memorial Hospital, Hotel Wausau, and the Marathon County Court House. She was a member of Church of St. Anne and the Order of the Secular Franciscans - St. James Fraternity, Wausau; and St. Bartholomew Church, Cincinnati.
Wilma is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Jan Rodenkirch of St. George, Utah; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Wayne Specht of Cincinnati; grandchildren, David (Brenda) Specht, Andy (Laura) Specht, and Katherine Specht; and great-grandchildren, Becca, MacKenzie, and Bella Specht.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur and sister, Esther Wolff Bloomquist.
Memorial mass will be held at 11:30 am Tuesday at the Church of St. Anne, 700 W. Bridge St, Wausau, WI 54401, with Father Steven J. Brice presiding. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the church. Entombment has taken place in the mausoleum at St. Michaels Cemetery in Wausau.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Church of St. Anne or St. Anthony Spirituality Center, 300 E 4th St, Marathon, WI 54448.
