Wilma M. Kohl
95, Kronenwetter, formerly of New London, died Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at home.
She was born April 17, 1913 in Wilton, Wis., daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Schappa) Koehler. In June of 1934, she married the love of her life, Edwin Schendel in Wood stock, Ill., he preceded her in death.
For many years, Wilma owned and operated the Midtown Bar and Food in New London. She enjoyed traveling and looked forward to everyday, living life to the fullest. Wilma was a woman with no regrets, a woman to be respected and honored.
Survivors include, one son, Donald (Pam Leahy) Schendel, Kronenwetter; one daughter, Margaret Wold, Rockford, Ill.; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Edwin, she was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Schendel; one daughter, Sheila Schendel; and nine sisters.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Matthew Hein will officiate. Friends may call Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
