William M. "Bill" Springer
75, Edgar, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born January 31, 1934 in the town of Emmet, son of the late Paul and Blanche (Austin) Springer. For two years, Bill served in the United States Army and then worked on the family farm for the rest of his life. He enjoyed raising dairy and beef cattle and most of all he loved deer hunting and raising deer as a hobby. Bill had many other interests, including fishing, hunting, gardening and many other outdoor activities. Driving around in his 4-wheel Polaris Ranger and working in the woods were some of his favorite pastimes.
Survivors include, one sister, Rose (James) Karlen, Marathon; three brothers, Robert Springer, Edgar, Leonard (Janice) Springer, Edgar and Laverne (Jean) Springer, Wausau; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Springer, Marathon and Lorraine Springer, Edgar; two special boys, Ryan and Aaron; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Springer and Paul Springer Jr.; one sister, Delores Springer; and four nephews, Kenneth, Richard, Leroy and George Springer.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Robert Streveler will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services for the wonderful care given to Bill.
