William R. Radtke 46, 3000 Madonna Drive, Wausau, died Friday, December 3, 2004 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital following a 3 A½ year battle with cancer. Bill was born May 27, 1958 in Wausau, son of Claire (Showen) Radtke and the late Leonard Radtke. On July 26, 1980 he married Mary Anne Kraimer at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. She survives. For over 15 years, Bill worked in maintenance at the former Lindells Co.(Hals and County Market) and also at an office supply company in Wausau. He enjoyed cooking, spending time in the garage doing woodworking, fishing, gardening, watching Star Trek Enterprise on Sunday nights, Packer games and spending time at the cottage. Bill was an avid race fan and took pride in watching and taping the race career of his nephew M.G. Gajewski. One thing that stood out most about Bill was his ability to fix almost anything, thus giving him the nickname "Mr. Fix It." Survivors include his wife Mary Anne Radtke, Wausau, two sons, David (Jen Fix) Radtke, Daniel Radtke, at home, his mother Claire Radtke, Wausau, one brother, Gilbert Radtke, Wausau, two sisters, Barbara Peterson, Baltimore, M.D., Lorna (Matt) Wiskowski, Schofield, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Juanita and Norbert Kraimer, Wausau, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Ron Gajewski, Wausau, brother-in-law, Dean Brandt, Wausau along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his father Leonard, one sister Eileen Brandt and two brothers Gerald and Charles. Palbearers will be Michael "M.G". Gajewski, John Gajewski, Mark Sukanen, Donald Hanson, James Radtke and Timothy Farrell. The funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish rosary service at 6:30 p.m. Monday evening at the Stewart Avenue funeral home. Robert Thorn, Norma Kipp, Dr. Gautam and his staff, all the nurses involved with Bill's care, family and friends; especially Grandma and Grandpa Kraimer, Donald "Chubby" and Linda and Ron and Mary Lou Gajewski for the support and love given to Bill over that last three and one half years.
