William H. Oestreich

William H. Oestreich 85, 3596 Hollywood Road, Marathon, died Thursday, January 31, 2002 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born February 3, 1916 in the town of Scott, Lincoln County, Wisconsin, son of the late Otto and Emma (Stark) Oestreich. He married Grace Laumer, on September 3, 1955 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Edgar. She survives. William had been self employed as a farmer, a woodsman and plasterer. Survivors include his wife, Grace, two sons, Garry, of Omaha, Nebraska, Dale (Wendy),of LaCrosse, Wisconsin and their children Lindsey, Kimber and Spenser. His daughter, Ellen (Jeffrey) Muzynoski, Schofield, and their children, Benjamin and Kellie. Three sisters Erna Schmidt & Esther Biggs, of Merril, and Bertha Baumann of Tomahawk, Wisconsin, two brothers Martin & Otto of Merrill, and four sisters-in-law, Selma, Leona, Ethel & Margaret Oestreich of Merrill and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, two sisters, Olga Buntrock & Selma Katke and five brothers, Emil, John, Paul, Albert & Herbert and three sisters-in-law, Esther, Dorothy & Anna Oestreich and five brothers-in-law, Harry Buntrock, Clarence Schmidt, Ervin Baumann, Clifford Biggs & Edward Katke. Funeral Services will be 1:30 PM Monday, February 4, 2002 at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Marathon. Rev. Jon Hadler will officiate. Burial will be in the Edgar Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 4-8 PM at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon, and again on Monday from 12:30 PM until the time of services at the church.
