William "Bill" C. Hafner
83, Wausau, died Monday, April 23, 2012 at Ministry St. Clare's Hospital, Weston.
He was born July 21, 1928 in Edgar, son of the late Clarence and Anna (Pelatzke) Hafner.
Bill served his country in the United States Army, serving in the Army of Occupation-Germany; he was a technical sergeant in the 57th Tank Battalion. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, four wheeling and taking trips to Canada. Bill was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Order of Foresters.
Bill was a devoted father and loving husband who is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Hafner, Wausau; children, Scott (Michele) Hafner, Wausau, Kim (Rachelle) Hafner, Robbinsdale, Minnesota, Michael (Alice) Hafner, Mosinee and Caryl Hafner, Wausau, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Memorial Chapel, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the Memorial Chapel.
