William A. Fromm
78, Hamburg, died Thursday November 27, 2008 at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau.
He was born February 26, 1930, in Wausau, son of the late Herbert A. and Alma (Schoenherr) Fromm. On July 31, 1971, he married Alice Bortz in Stevens Point. She survives.
William had been employed at the former Wright's Music Store as a repairman. Later he had been employed with Pauly Cheese, subsequently Bletsoe's Cheese and Marathon Cheese Corporation. Among his many interests, he was a musician, playing the fiddle, enjoyed hunting, vacations in Canada and held a private pilots license as well as owning an antique airplane.
Survivors include his wife, Alice, two sons, Galen Fromm, North Aurora, Ill., Jeremy Fromm, Hamburg, a daughter, Elizabeth Fromm, Wausau, a brother, Norman (Fannell) Fromm, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, a sister-in-law, Marjorie Fromm, Marathon, a brother-in-law, Ernest (Darlene) Bortz, Hewitt and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Fromm.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday December 1, 2008 at St. John Lutheran Church, Hamburg. Rev. James Klug will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Good Samaritan Health Center, Marywood Convalescent Center and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services for the care given to William.
