William L. Fredrich

William L. "Bill" Fredrich 80, Weston, died Monday December 3, 2007 at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston. He was born July 5, 1927, in Mosinee, son of the late Joseph and Emma (Heitzinger) Fredrich. On May 28, 1960, he married Marlene Stohr at Holy Name Catholic Church, Wausau. She survives. Bill served his country in the U.S. Army in both World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 8895, Schofield/Rothschild. From February 1957 until January 1983, Bill had been employed with the Marathon County Sheriff's Department. He served in the capacity of Deputy, Sergeant, Court Officer and Jail Administrator. He was a member and past Grand Knight of the Third Degree Knights of Columbus, Sacred Heart Council No. 4628, Schofield as well as a member and past Faithful Navigator of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Pere Rene Menard General Assembly, Wausau. Among his favorite things to do were hunting, fishing, traveling and spending time in the northwoods. Survivors include his wife, Marlene, one brother, Ray Fredrich, Kronenwetter, his mother-in-law, Grace Stohr, Wausau and nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Richard, a sister, Elaine Chappell and his father-in-law, William Stohr. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday December 6, 2007 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. Rev. Allan Slowiak will preside. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Weds. from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a combined vigil and Knights of Columbus rosary service at 6:00 p.m. Weds. evening at the Sixth Street funeral home.
