William John Downing

William John Downing 93, Wausau, died Monday, August 4, 2003 at Wausau Manor Nursing Home. He was born March 30, 1910 in Merrill. On December 16, 1933, he married Dorothy Meilahn at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau. She preceded him in death on August 19, 1999. William was blessed with a long life. We will miss him. He is held dear in the hearts of his surviving children, Judy (Glenn) Young, Three Lakes and William James (Diane) Downing, Wausau; six grandchildren, Craig (Mary) Young, Cynthia (Ward) Komonosky, Kirk (Kris) Downing, Kent (Robin) Downing, Kim (Greg) Pearson and Kip Downing; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Arthur Downing, Nebraska. Burial will be private. Memorials may be directed to Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau or Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
