Willard "Bill" Jahsmann
91, Wausau, died Sunday, April 3, 2005 at Mount View Care Center, Wausau.
He was born December 4, 1913 in the town of Wien, son of the late William and Freda (Sevren) Jahsmann. On May 21, 1949, he married Adeline Hartwig at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wausau. She preceded him in death on December 17, 1998.
Bill was a veteran of the US Navy serving in the Pacific Islands during World War II. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Burns Post #388 and the American Legion Post #10 both of Wausau.
Bill was maintenance Forman for the former American Can Corporation, Wausau for 27 years. Among his favorite things to do were hunting, fishing and playing golf. Bill enjoyed working on crafts. He was a member of the Wausau Curling Club for 37 years.
Survivors include one sister, Evelyn Bartel and one brother, Harold (Arlene B.) Jahsmann, both of Wausau; one brother-in-law, Edgar Grosskopf, Wausau; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ilean Grosskopf, Lucella Paul and Lorena Obey.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Donald Baumann will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau where there will be full military honors conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Burns Post #388 and the American Legion Post #10 both of Wausau. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services at the Sixth Street funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may sent to St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wausau.
