Willard A. Czech
77, formerly of Wausau, died Saturday February 5, 2005 at the Bethel Home, Oshkosh, of Alzheimers Disease.
He was born September 10, 1927 in Athens, son of the late Otto and Anna (Batscheider) Czech. He was the seventh of nine children. On November 4, 1948, he married Ellen Kitts in Des Plains, Ill. She preceded him in death May 19, 1997.
Willard attended Medford High School and from 1945 until 1952 he was employed with the Rock Island & New York Central Railroad. In 1952 he moved to Wausau and worked at the former American Can retiring in 1988. After his wife's death in 1997 he moved to Oshkosh to be closer to his family.
Survivors include a son, James (Erin) Czech, Oshkosh, two grandchildren, Emily and Brian Czech, one sister, Clara Eckerle, Wausau a brother, Raymond (Kathy) Czech, Fort Atkinson, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents and wife, Willard was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday February 10, 2005 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimers Association.
