Wilbur “Will” F. Lazotte, 93, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Wausau Manor in Wausau, Wisconsin, under the care of Compassus hospice services.
He was born on October 27, 1931 in Menasha, Wisconsin, son of the late Anton and Genevieve (Huhnstock) Lazotte. He graduated from Neenah High School in 1949 and served four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. On May 17, 1958 he married Dorothy Ritter at Saint Margaret Mary Parish in Neenah, Wisconsin. After 35 years, he retired from the James River Corp. in Wausau in 1989. He was a member of the American Legion Post 10 in Wausau and a member of St. Mark Catholic Parish in Rothschild.
He enjoyed his trip on the Honor Flight in 2015 and many years of hunting, fishing, golfing, and playing poker. He also liked playing ping pong, bowling, cross country skiing, and taking the family camping.
Survivors include his son, Mark Lazotte; daughter, Karen Alexander (Tim Hoff); grandson, Matthew Alexander (Alyssa Loertscher); and sister, Marietta Dahlke.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; brother, Norbert; sisters, Agnes and Angeline; brothers-in-law, John Dahlke, Edward Klundt, Harvey Zamzow, James, Henry, and Arnold Ritter; and sisters-in-law, Marjorie LaZotte, Eunice Zamzow, and Mary Ritter.
Private family services were held. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Town of Maine, Wisconsin.
