Wilbur W. Krueger
67, of Naples, Florida and summer resident of Lake George, New York, passed away at his Florida home on Sunday, November 10, 2002.
He was born December 27, 1934 in Wausau, son of the late Wilbur O. and Loretta (Belgram) Krueger. On November 26, 1966, he married Judith Callahan at St. James Catholic Church, Wausau. She survives.
Wilbur attended Wausau High School, graduating in 1953. He then went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received his Chemical Engineering Degree in 1957 and completed the Executive Business Program at the University of Minnesota.
Wilbur started his career in the paper industry as a process engineer at Wausau Paper Mills Company, rising to the position of Vice-President of Manufacturing. He co-founded Potsdam Paper Corporation as Owner and President. After the sale of the paper mill, he went on to co-found Adirondack Hydro Development Corporation and Adirondack Resource Management Associates, both located in Upstate New York.
He was a veteran of the Wisconsin National Guard and a member of the MIT Alumni, Wausau Elks Lodge #248, TAPPI, PIMA, IPPNY, Glens Falls Country Club, Glens Falls, NY, and The Club at Pelican Bay, Naples, FL and Lake George Yacht Club, Lake George, NY.
Besides his wife, Judith, Naples, Florida & Lake George, New York, survivors include three sons; Dr. David Krueger, New Orleans, Louisiana, Daniel (Karin) Krueger, St. Petersburg, Florida and their children, Benjamin and Daniel, and Douglas (Sarah) Krueger, Ashburn, Virginia and their children, Melanie and Patrick.
Memorial services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2002 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Inurnment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th St., Wausau and again from 8:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church.
There will be a 7:00 p.m. Elks memorial services Friday evening at the 6th St. funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
