Wendy L. Schroeder

Wendy L. Schroeder 52, Wausau, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2011 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau, following a long term illness. She was born November 13, 1958 in Phillips, the daughter of Ethel (Henderson) Plachetka of Tomahawk and the late William Plachetka. On August 12, 1988, she married Thomas Schroeder in Wausau. He survives. Wendy worked for Wausau Insurance until she became disabled and no longer able to work. Before her illness, she enjoyed scuba diving and riding motorcycles. She always loved to read. Survivors include, her husband, Thomas Schroeder, Wausau; her mother, Ethel Plachetka, Tomahawk; eight siblings, Wayne (Janie) Plachetka, Greenwood, Wis., JoMarie Carmichael, Wausau, Doug (Debbie) Plachetka, Tomahawk, Bruce (Margo) Plachetka, Hamburg, Jeffrey (Tina) Plachetka, Wausau, Sue (Randy) Hess, Grantsburg, Wis., Mike (Kate) Plachetka, Rice Lake and Mary (Casey) Jones, Tripoli; three sisters-in-law, Jeanette (Donald) Stubbe, Wausau, Bette (Irv) Fletcher, Weston and Doris (George) Melder, Hubertus, Wis.; one brother-in-law, Carey (Jeanie) Schroeder, Rothschild; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her father, William, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary and James Plachetka; one sister, Cindy Plachetka; and her spiritual sister, Roxanne Fletcher. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Derrald Hilderbrand will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
