Wayne A. Szymanski

Wayne A. Szymanski 60, 2402 South Mountain Road, Wausau died Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born May 8, 1948 in Wausau son of Alex and Theresa (Lemmer) Szymanski, Marathon. On March 16, 1989 he married Sandy Juhlke in Daytona Beach, Florida. She survives. Wayne was the district manager for Combined Insurance Company of America for more than 38 years. Some of his favorite pastimes included fishing with his son Clint, traveling cross country with his wife Sandy and enjoying the day to day activities around the house, especially his yard work. Wayne was instrumental in organizing the Polish Drill Team Float in the Marathon Fun Days Parade. Throughout the years he loved DJing with his friend Chops, watching baseball games on all levels and baseball card collecting. Survivors include his wife, Sandy Szymanski, his son, Clint Szymanski, both of Wausau, his parents, Alex and Theresa Szymanski, Marathon, his step children, Brad (Danille) Hildebrandt, New Richmond, Amy (Zhirik) Barseghian, Chandler, Arizona, his step grandchildren, Lauren and Derek Hildebrandt and Calvin and Ava Barseghian, his siblings, Mary Jane (Dennis) Cramer, Marathon and Julie (Jon) Koch, Brussels. Wayne is further survived by his mother and father-in-law, Lloyd and Dorothy Juhlke, Schofield and four special nieces, Hayley (Phil) Cramer and Heather (Sam) Cramer and Alyse and Kayla Koch. Wayne was preceded in death by his niece Jessica Koch and his grandson, Jaxon Barseghian. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. The Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Marathon. Friends may call on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Wayne's name.
