Walter J. Wadzinski Sr.
85, town of Cassel, died Tuesday, October 23, 2001 at his home.
He was born January 23, 1916 in the town of Cassel, son of the late Roman and Louise (Zawichrowski) Wadzinski. On June 16, 1936, he married Sylvia Bonin at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. She survives.
Walter and Sylvia were dairy farmers in the Town of Cassel until retiring in 1980. He was the Town Supervisor and drove grader & snowplow for 30 years for the Town of Cassel. Walter held various positions at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening, telling a good story but most especially enjoyed his family & grandchildren who always brought him joy.
Survivors besides his wife, Sylvia, town of Cassel; include his children, Walter Jr. (Joan) Wadzinski, Weston, Patricia Berg, Wausau, Robert Wadzinski, Marathon, George (Paulette) Wadzinski, Rib Mountain, Alice (Robert) Peterson, Weston, Bonnie (Jay) Heindl, Mosinee, Eugene Wadzinski, Wausau, Timothy (Dawn) Wadzinski, Marathon, Gerard (Ruby) Wadzinski, Mosinee and William (LaVonne) Wadzinski, Marathon; 28 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren;
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Joseph; 2 sisters, Martha and Mary; 4 brothers, Raymond, Joseph, Louis and Ted.
The funeral mass will be 11:00 a.m. October 26, 2001 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Town of Cassel. Rev. Joseph Batkiewicz will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again from 10:00 a.m. Friday until the time of services at the church.
There will be a 7:00 p.m. parish rosary service Thursday evening at the Marathon funeral home.
