Wallace O. Roll

March 10, 1925 — January 14, 2002

Wallace O. Roll 76, 1209 S. 9th Avenue, Wausau, died Monday January 14, 2002 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. He was born March 10, 1925 in Wausau, son of the late Otto and Agnes (Scholz) Roll. He married Mary Ann LeTendre. She preceded him in death in 1984. Wallace had been employed at Wausau Metals for 25 years, retiring in 1987. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. An avid Packer fan, Wallace also enjoyed spending time at his cottage in Lake Tomahawk and spending time with his dog, Pepper. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Air Force. Survivors include his special friend and companion, Phyllis Sann, Wausau, two brothers, Donald Roll, Wausau, James (Sandy) Roll, Lake Tomahawk, two sisters, Marion (Dempsey) Nelson, Flagstaff, Ariz., Alice (Werner) Norleen, Modesto, Calif., nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Seliger, a brother, Frank Roll and a sister-in-law, Betty Roll. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday January 17, 2002 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
