Virginia "Nan" M. Streveler
83, Merrill, formerly of Marathon, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born November 22, 1924 in town of Emmet, daughter of the late John and Sarah (Gorman) Dahlke. On June 1, 1944 she married Clarence Streveler in Halder. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1963.
Nan worked at Marathon Co-op until her retirement. She was a member of the St. Mary Council of Catholic Women and worked with Color Vision for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed eating out and shopping with her friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol (James) Emon, Merrill; five grandchildren, Russell (Pamela) Emon, Wausau, DeEtte Emon, Sugar Camp, Meredith (Tony) Friese, Schofield, Lisa (Todd) Soukup, Mosinee and Jay (Carrie) Emon, Rib Mountain, six great grandchildren and one great great grandson; brother, Jack (Red) Dahlke, Halder; sister-in-law, Helen Dahlke, Las Vegas and many other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Clarence, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert "Glenn" Dahlke.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon on Friday, May 9, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. The Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Halder. Friends may call Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
