Virginia "Ginny" A. Stoiber

November 17, 1923 — February 12, 2016

Ginny was born November 17, 1923 in Marshfield, Wisconsin, to Frederick "Fritz" and Anna (Gropp) Braem. She married Richard "Dick" Stoiber on October 2, 1943 in Bremerton, Washington, where Dick was stationed in the U.S. Navy. Ginny passed away peacefully on February 12, 2016 at the age of 92 in Wausau, Wisconsin. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dick, who passed away on November 24, 2001. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Jones and Marsha Kennedy, both living in Southern California; grandchildren, Patrick Kennedy, Fort Worth, Texas and Shayna Kennedy, Sacramento, California; as well as her two sisters, Beverly Mundt of Marshfield, Wisconsin and Shirlee Easley of Sparta, Wisconsin. Ginny was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, golf, cook and visit with her daughters in California. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus in Wausau for more than 60 years, and she and her husband were very involved in church activities over the years. Dick was a Pearl Harbor survivor, having been on the U.S.S. California on December 7, 1941. Dick and Ginny enjoyed attending many U.S.S. California ship reunions across the United States as well as several Pearl Harbor Anniversary's in Hawaii. After retirement, they enjoyed their winters in Palm Desert, California for many years, where they could be close to their children and grandchildren and where they made many friends during their winter stays. Ginny was always there with a heart full of love for her family and friends. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Noon on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Dan Thelen will preside. Entombment will be in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
