Virginia R. Smith

Virginia R. Smith 83, Wausau, died Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau. She was born August 6, 1926 in Wausau, daughter of the late William and Bertha (Kopp) Kohl. On March 15, 1947 she married Alfred Smith in Wausau. He preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughters, Shirley (Alan) Schilling, Hatley and Jane (Joseph) Nikolai, Weston; son, Thomas (Amy) Smith, town of Norrie; six grandchildren, Rhonda (Greg) Garver, Brenda (Jim) Erickson, Julie (Jose') Hunt, David (Amy) Nikolai , Michelle (Rick) Gleason and Justin White; 10 great grandchildren; three sisters, Katherine Rainville, Doris Sefton and Carol Pyke. Besides her parents and husband, Alfred "Bevo" Smith, she was preceded in death by a son, James Smith and a brother, Alvin Kohl. Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th Street, Wausau. The Rev. Gregory Michaud will officiate. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. until the time of services all at the 6th Street funeral home.
