Virginia M. Schubring

Virginia M. Schubring 70, 307 Summit Drive, Wausau, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born January 27, 1937 in Wausau, daughter of the late Anton and Clara (Kowalewski) Nowitzke. In 1959 she married Kenneth Schubring in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1991. Virginia worked at Impact Industries for many years. She took great pride in raising her children and always found time to play a few games of Yahtzee. Some of her other interests included card playing, reading, cooking and attending church services as often as she could. Above all she cherished the time she spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Dawn (Keith) Kurth and Sharon Vanderwyst, Gregory Schubring and Kevin (Barb) Schubring, all of Wausau, her grandchildren, Valerie Schubring, Kris Kurth, Vanessa Kurth, Courtney Vanderwyst and Nicole Cook, her great grandchildren, Max Loveless, Kris Kurth Jr., Payton Kurth and Lily Goetsch, two sisters, Marlene Nowitzke and Lillian Kortbein, both of Wausau. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers Ambrose and Tony Nowitzke and two sisters, Gladys Nowitzke and Dolores Gruna-Rybarczyk. The funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2007 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. The Rev. Joseph Gyim Austin will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
