Virginia J. Schmidt

Virginia J. Schmidt 74, Edgar, died on Mothers Day, Sunday, May 8, 2005 under the care of Comfort Care & Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born April 13, 1931 in Wisconsin, daughter of the late Glenn and Florence (Dix) Blyton. On December 30, 1947, she married Neil Schmidt in Edgar. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2003. Virginia was a homemaker who loved to play cards throughout the Edgar area. She was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Edgar. Besides being an avid bowler, she also enjoyed baking, Virginia loved being with her family and most especially she enjoyed her time with the grandchildren. Survivors include four daughters, Joyce (Richard) Zuehlsdorf, Waterford, and Marilyn Franke, Vicki (Mike) Maurer and Jill Schmidt all of Edgar; two sons, Gary (Faye) Schmidt, Wausau and William Schmidt, Edgar; 12 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Donna Habeck, Colby and one brother, DuWayne Blyton, West Virginia. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amanda Zuehlsdorf; one son-in-law, Michael Franke; one brother-in-law, Clifford Habeck. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at St Stephen Lutheran Church, Edgar. Rev. Linda Dutton will officiate. Burial will be in the Edgar Cemetery.
