Virginia C. Campbell

Virginia C. Campbell 90, Wausau, died Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born June 2, 1916, in Racine, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Wiley O. and Jennie C. (Matson) Puckett. She married Kenneth L. Campbell on December 10, 1937, at the Methodist Church in Wausau. He preceded her in death on June 8, 1998. Virginia was a homemaker and loving mother all her life. Vir and Kenny lived on Kickbusch St. in Wausau for many, many years when everyone knew all of their neighbors. They raised all five of their children in that little house where many celebrations took place. She was active in Longfellow School PTA and Cub Scouts. She and her family loved camping "up north" at Crystal Lake. Vir and Kenny traveled the country when Dad retired and they settled in Weslaco, TX where they spent 14 winters and perhaps the most wonderful years of their life. Summers were still spent up north camping. She moved to Island Place apartments when Dad became ill where she met many friends and spent nearly every night playing cards with the ladies. All who knew her will miss her. Survivors include her children, Richard (Laurie) Campbell, King George, Va.; Charlotte Hagenbucher, Wausau; Karen (Darryl) Erickson, Grand View, Iowa; Bruce (Dianne) Campbell, Crystal Falls, Mich. & Lake Tomahawk, Wis.; Scott (Kelly) Campbell, Wausau; 11 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, one Great Great Grandchild, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth Campbell, an infant daughter Mary Virginia, a brother Donald Puckett, sisters, Gloria M. Puckett, Dorothy Wiesman-Litzer and Jeannette Olson. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 20, 2007, at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. The Rev. Darryl Erickson will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be Saturday 12:00 p.m. until the time of services at the Sixth Street funeral home. Mom, we will miss you.
