Violet Engstrom Peterson

Violet Engstrom Peterson A longtime resident of Watersmeet, Michigan, died Saturday July 21, 2007 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. Mrs. Peterson was born December 30, 1911 in Iron Mountain, Michigan. For 60 years, she was married to Harold Carl Peterson, also of Iron Mountain, who died in 1988 at the age of 81. Together they owned and operated a lumber mill, one in Watersmeet and another in Parrish, Wisconsin. They had four children, two who preceded their mother, Arthur H. Peterson of Watersmeet and Edith Marie Wright of Alexandria, Virginia. Her two surviving children are Susan Peterson Alexander of Washington DC and Karla Jean Mirick of Wausau. Mrs. Peterson is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Labor Day weekend at Ely Memorial Church in Land O' Lakes, Wisconsin. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of local arrangements.
