Violet C. Marcott, 87, Wausau, died Monday July 28, 2003, at her home.
She was born September 14, 1915, in Wausau, daughter of the late Max and Emma (Treu) Koenig. On September 7, 1937, she married Robert Marcott in Bessemer, Mich. He preceded her in death.
Violet was a seamstress for Winkelman's Department Store, Wausau, for many years and also worked for the Wausau School District lunch program at Lincoln Elementary School. She was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, Wausau. Violet was a lifelong member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and children.
Survivors include two daughters, Marlyss (Walter) McDonald, Ft. Atkinson, Cindy (LeRoy) Markowski, Rib Mountain; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and three sisters, Ruth Prahl, Wisconsin Rapids, Lorraine Elford, Wausau, and Myrtle Bach, Tomahawk. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Hazel Stein, Freda Usadel; and two brothers Lawrence and Reno Koenig.
Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m. Wednesday July 30, 2003, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wausau. The Rev. Nancy Russell will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice.
