Violet "Vi" Kitowski

Violet "Vi" Kitowski, 86, Wausau, died Thursday March 28, 2013 at Wellington Place under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born February 28, 1927, in Wausau, daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy (Jagla) Gauger. On February 16, 1985 she married Chester "Tezy" Kitowski. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2000. Violet had been employed Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 42 years, retiring as office manager. Among her favorite things to do were, golfing, bowling and taking an occasional trip to the casino. She was a member of the Elk's Ladies, the American Legion Auxiliary Montgomery Plant Post No. 10 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post No. 388. Survivors include one sister, Virginia Davide, Wausau, one brother, Ron (Lillian) Gauger, Sturgeon Bay, one brother-in-law, Jerry Butterfield, Rothschild, many nieces and nephews that she considered her own children, an aunt, Loretta Kedrowicz, Rosholt, and special friend, Arlene Sillars, Wausau. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Diane Butterfield and Delores (Richard) Valentine and a brother-in-law, Joseph Davide. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Weds. April 3, 2013 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. David Rybicki will preside. Entombment will be in Garden of Eternal Rest Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Weds. from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Holy Name Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
