Violet S. Furmanek
82, 1121 South 13th Avenue, Wausau, died peacefully Wednesday, October 10, 2001 at her home.
Violet was born April 2, 1919 in Bevent, daughter of the late Thaddeus and Anna (Kuklinski) Damask. She married Ambrose Furmanek May 20, 1940 in Bevent. He preceded her in death May 17, 2001.
The Furmanek's farmed in the town of Bevent for ten years. Violet was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She made home a special place. Violet treasured spending time with her grandchildren and loved cooking and flower gardening. She was very artistic and enjoyed designing her own crocheting and embroidery work. Violet was also a member of the St. Catherine Council at Holy Name Parish.
Survivors include her four children, Bridget (Ray) Litza, Hatley, Shirley (James Ludwig) Van Slate, Wausau, James (Elizabeth) Furmanek, Charleston, South Carolina and John (Nola) Furmanek, Plover, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2001 at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish rosary service 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Sixth Street funeral home.
