Violet M. Bartishofski
85, Weston, died Friday, October 24, 2008 at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Weston.
She was born April 23, 1923 in the town of Otter Creek, Wis., daughter of the late Albert and Adela (Ventzke) Dehnke. On June 22, 1946, she married Anthony M. Bartishofski Sr. in Melrose Park, Ill. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2008.
In her younger years, Violet worked for American Can in Chicago, Ill. Following her marriage to Anthony Sr., they moved to Wausau where she worked for the former Marathon Battery and the former Astro-Lighter. For the past several years, Violet was a homemaker and enjoyed embroidery, quilting, gardening and making flower arrangements with her husband. She was a member of the Retirees Union AFSCME.
Survivors include, one son, Anthony Jr. (Sandra) Bartishofski, Tomahawk; two grandchildren, Todd (Sarah) Bartishofski, Wausau and Monica Bartishofski, Rhinelander; one brother, Gordon Dehnke, Fall Creek, Wis.; one sister, Jean Hanson, Wausau; and many step-grandchildren; step-great grandchildren; and step-great great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Anthony Sr., she was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Ristau and Mabel Gaulke.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Entombment will be in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. There will be a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
