Vilas Z. Heinrich

Vilas Z. Heinrich, 96, Schofield, died Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Copperleaf Assisted Living, Schofield. He was born March 15, 1920 in Birnamwood, son of the late Louis and Edna (Meverden) Heinrich. He married Pauline Weber who preceded him in death in 1955. On November 12, 1956 he married Lillian Klumpyan who preceded him in death on June 29, 2011. Vilas worked as a Carpenter for the Carpenters Union. He enjoyed woodworking and continued making bird houses, benches and other projects in his room at Copperleaf until recently. He was a charter member of St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. Survivors include his children, Gordon (Cathy) Heinrich, Colorado, Linda (Ken) Koskey, North Dakota, Annette (Mike) Boller-Spurlock, Appleton and Bernie Heinrich, Hatley; step-son, Tom (Barbara) Klumpyan, Schofield; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Eunice (Norton) Olbrecht, Germantown and Noreen (Tony) Gracyalny, Beloit; son-in-law, Bill Miller, Rothschild; step-daughters-in-law, Mary Klumpyan, Schofield, Lia Klumpyan, Marathon and Etta Klumpyan, Texas. Besides his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by a son, Alan Heinrich, daughter, Mary Miller, step-sons, Joe, Fred and Richard Klumpyan and a brother, Cletus Heinrich. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2017 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in St. Philomena Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Copperleaf Assisted Living, Schofield for the kind, compassionate care given to Vilas during his time there.
