Verona A. Kraemer
90, formerly of River Hills Road, Wausau, died Monday January 31, 2005 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born October 25, 1914 in the town of Hull, Portage County, daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Kazmarek) Walters. On September 25, 1937 she married Ervin Kraemer at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death January 13, 1995.
Verona was a homemaker and farmed with her husband prior to their retirement. Among her many interests were gardening and fishing. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and their Rosary Confraternity.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeanette (Clair) Ostrowski, Wausau and their children, Christopher (JoMarie) Ostrowski, Merrill, Jeffrey Ostrowski and Michael (Kim) Ostrowski, all of Wausau, a son-in-law, Jack Sliwicki, Ringle and his children, Barbara (Russ) Lambrecht, Susan (John) Christensen, all of Ringle, Anthony (Rainie) Sliwicki, Wausau, nine great grandchildren, siblings, Frank (Helen) Walters, and Frances Baumann all of Wausau.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Beverly Sliwicki, Rosemary Kraemer and a grandson, Russell Sliwicki, three sisters, Magdeline Zastrow, Josephine Kovach, Clara Nietzke, and two brothers, Damon and Leo Walters.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 4, 2005 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau, Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, and again Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church. There will be a parish and rosary confraternity rosary service 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Sixth Street funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
